Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Challenges Are Overly Demanding
The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures peaked at nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Gamers have begun turning to tailored sessions made via the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how demanding these missions have become.
Comprehending Battlefield 6 Assignments
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the regularly refreshed daily and weekly challenges. There are four categories of assignments, but although many simply offer skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one key firearms present in the game.
Some of these restricted firearms might eventually find their way on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration via Reddit
On Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most egregious examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This mission is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a comment that illustrates just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many positive effects in fights as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Overly Demanding Task
One more community participant brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with sniper rifles
This is difficult enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game at present, it restricts you to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and perhaps an additional option if you're lucky if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.
However, when doing the challenges in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for completing them in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Upcoming Tweaks
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are toned down in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
Currently, the audience continues to express their views on these challenging battlefield assignments, expecting a less arduous overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
