Football Recap: Denver Stage Late Comeback Against Philadelphia, Ravens Endure Record Home-field Loss

Broncos Overcome Eagles in Thrilling Finish

Denver's quarterback found a short scoring throw and the running back added another ground touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Denver Broncos overcame a 14-point deficit to deliver the Eagles their first loss of the campaign. The Broncos batted down Jalen Hurts' last-gasp attempt on the game's concluding play to hand the Super Bowl champions to just their second loss in their last 22 games. Denver (three wins and two losses) got fortunate in their rally when the Eagles had a crucial play called back on an illegal shift penalty called on star ball carrier Barkley.

Houston Texans 44–10 Baltimore Ravens

Houston's quarterback threw for 244 passing yards and four scoring throws, and the Texans (2-3) cruised to a 44-10 win over an injury-ravaged Ravens squad, equaling both the most lopsided road win in the franchise's record books and the worst home defeat in Baltimore's annals. The Ravens (one win and four losses) were missing star signal-caller Jackson, and that was not their sole issue. Defensive standouts Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey all missed the game, and the Ravens already were depleted on that side of the ball because of a cervical issue that concluded the defensive lineman's campaign. The Ravens were also missing Pro Bowl blocker Ricard and offensive lineman Stanley.

Las Vegas Raiders 6–40 Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis' running back scored three touchdowns and a two-point conversion, and the quarterback passed for two touchdown passes as the Indianapolis Colts overwhelmed the Las Vegas Raiders. The 34-point margin was Indy's biggest since 2013. The quarterback finished 20 passes out of 29 attempts for 212 passing yards and improved to four wins and one loss as the starting quarterback this season, surpassing his total wins over the previous two years with the Giants. The running back rushed 17 attempts for 66 yards and grabbed three receptions for 20 receiving yards. The Colts converted a blocked punt, two interceptions and a turnover on downs into TDs. Las Vegas fell to four wins and one loss.

Dallas Cowboys 37-22 New York Jets

Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes, guiding the Dallas Cowboys to an easy victory over the New York Jets. The Cowboys put points on the board on two long marches in the second quarter, despite missing four starters on the blocking unit. Javonte Williams gained 135 yards and a touchdown and also hauled in a receiving touchdown. Dallas, now two wins, two losses, and a tie, rebounded from a 40-40 tie against Green Bay last week. The Jets remain winless at 0-5 in Aaron Glenn's first season as the leader.

Vikings Edge Browns in London Thriller

Minnesota wideout Addison caught a short touchdown pass from Carson Wentz with under half a minute left to give Minnesota victory over the Browns at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 10-play, 80-yard drive gave the Vikings (3-2) a crucial victory on their historic international road trip, which started with a 24-21 loss to the Steelers in Dublin last Sunday. It also spoiled Dillon Gabriel's first NFL start, as the Cleveland first-year player positioned his squad (1-4) in position to win by throwing two touchdown passes. Fellow rookie Judkins gained 110 rushing yards on 23 attempts. Wentz overcame an arm issue that briefly forced him out and directed two touchdown marches in the second half.

Miami Dolphins 24-27 Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young threw for two touchdowns and Rico Dowdle rushed for 206 rushing yards and a score as the Carolina Panthers rallied past the Dolphins in their home stadium. The quarterback's short pass to rookie tight end Mitchell Evans with under two minutes to go gave the Carolina (two wins and three losses) the lead for good as they equaled the biggest rally to secure victory in franchise history by erasing a large deficit. The QB had a poor start, but he ended up 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 yards with one pick. The backup, filling in for the sidelined starter, did his work on the run on 23 attempts, falling four yards of matching the single-game franchise rushing record. The Dolphins' quarterback completed 27 passes out of 36 for 256 passing yards with three touchdowns and receiver Waddle accumulated 110 yards through the air on six receptions and added a score, but the Miami (one win and four losses) dropped to zero wins and three losses in road games.

New York Giants 14–26 New Orleans Saints

New Orleans' quarterback passed for a long score to Rashid Shaheed, safety Jordan Howden scooped up a loose ball the length of the field for a score, and the Saints beat the error-prone New York Giants for the New Orleans' first victory under rookie coach Kellen Moore. The QB earned his first victory in 11 career starts, passing for 225 passing yards without a turnover. Giants rookie QB Dart, who secured his first career start last week, threw for 202 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also committed errors on three occasions. The Giants gave up possession five times in all, none more costly than when the defender forced a fumble from running back Cam Skattebo, leading to the safety's TD. Each squad are 1-4.
