The Greatest Local Multiplayer Game You've Likely Not Tried Arrives to Switch
The Wizard of Legend Sequel, a roguelike journey about spellcasters attempting to become renowned heroes, will arrive to Nintendo's console later this month. It will be available the 25th of November, offering fans of local multiplayer games a second chance to discover one among 2025's top-tier additions in the genre.
A Rocky Launch
The Wizard of Legend Sequel took the trajectory of many niche releases. Its creators launched it in pre-release in late 2024 on Windows PC, prior to launching it in full, in conjunction with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X editions, in mid-2025. At launch, it was widely panned. Just less than a third of its audience ratings were complimentary. The feedback on Steam are "varied", based on close to 2,000 evaluations, with a lot of users pointing out the unrefined state and abundance of technical issues initially. Console players further lambasted that the multiplayer component, a huge selling point for the release, was largely non-functional.
Ongoing Enhancements
But like several beta games that launch in unpolished conditions, Wizard of Legend 2 has gotten better. During the last several months, the development team have rolled out several fixes designed to resolve these problems. Since experiencing Wizard of Legend 2 more frequently than any latest game this year, it's safe to state it performs better than it was at launch (on Xbox Series X, at least). It has reached the level where most of the time, players can reliably initiate a multiplayer game to function. Quite an improvement!
Once It Functions, This Game Works
And when Wizard of Legend II functions, it works. From an isometric perspective, you fight through element-based levels by casting spells in fast-paced combat. Plenty of rushing, plenty of evading, lots of managing cooldowns. This game is incredibly rapid and endlessly creative; by combining your magical attacks with a friend's, you can unleash highly effective pairings.
Switch Edition Specifics
Although the Switch version has not been extensively tested, one should consider the very demanding quality standards for Switch games. Its creators confirmed in a news release that this edition of Wizard of Legend II incorporates each improvement that have been released recently.
